That was the comic book sound of Oj’s watch hitting 12 today (actually the sound would be a bit more beepdwerpbeep as his watch is an uber cool old skool digital display type of thing). He’s right though and I am man enough to admit it…I was two minutes late and didn’t he let me know it…on the the 5 minute walk from Southwark Tube to Titan Comics Offices I had to field no less than 2 ph calls from Mr Borg, one answer phone message and one text message enquiring to my whereabouts and why I was late!! I think the man deserves a job as chief timekeeper at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
Yes and twas ill as well, some ebola, ear ache,flu crossed with something terrible type of thing but hey I can roll with the punches..just hope I had the audio on in the interview as am pretty deaf at the mo with this killer bug..
As OJ says the guys there were great we interviewed 4 of them in the end and got a lowdown on the comic book workplace. Oj did also manage to wrangle himself a guest appearance in an upcoming edition of Transformers which I’m gutted about ..if it had been rogue trooper or judge dread though that would have killed me off…
The one thing he forgot to mention though is that the guys and gals at Titan Comics have given us a few signed (writer Martin Wood) copies of Tank Girl to give away on the show!! how cool is that..I’m just hoping I can get away with keeping one for myself..To stand a chance of winning you just gotta answer one simple question..of course you’ll have to wait until the show comes out to see what it is..
Oh and one other thing that comic book glutton boy Oj also forgot to mention was his freebie jaunt. He left with more comic books stashed in his bag then most small town bookshops have books. Though I was embarrased at first, as he used his maltese charm to wisk them off peoples desk, shelves and hands, I can’t complain as he did shift a few over in my direction including a hard back copy of DC Comics Batman ‘ The Man who Laughs’ witch has a great drawing of the Joker on the front. And since I’m now off sick I’ve got a great book to read!!
