RedBull-ocks

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Saturday and sunday saw the London leg of the Redbull Air race, and after a whole pile of blagging, emailing and form filling I mangaged to get the 11th down there. So myself and a rough looking Remy rolled up at to start with completely the wrong tube station in east London, the the right one via a pasty to find a sufficient lack of excitement.

We hung around, did a few shos, interviewed the event organiser, but not getting the gold that we wanted, time with the best of the best, the guys who would shit all over Miramar, Iceman and wouldn’t even entertain Kelly Mcguiness’s advances. Problem was that they were all getting prepared for flying through gates at 230 mph 10 ft off the ground. I mean why would they need to get in the zone for that? Ponces.

I shan’t go into what we filmed at the air show other than we did get (some) interviews and that the Army helicopter shat all over the navy one.

Keep an eye out for this episode in the next couple of weeks and I shall leave you with womething that I’ve posted before - Quentin Tarrantino’s interpretation of Topgun. And the top gun theme as well. Whats a blog with out some homo erotic behavior eh?

Where’s the Love (Box)

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

So for the 3rd year on the trot I went down to the event that Groove Armada put on in Victoria Park London - The Love Box

Keen viewers of the Eleventh will realise that we filmed a show form down there - a show that James dubbed “OJ’s great day out” which it was, thank you very much Bedders.

The great thing about the festival in yeasr gone by was the fantastic atmosphere, the sense of Joviality (are they the same thing) the kookiness of what is a bit of a pointless festival in some ways - the place shuts at ten and the music isn’t terribly loud due to the middle class neighbors.

So this year going down the first thing that this blogger has a problem with was the queues…. you queue for everything, from drinks to the bogs. The place was heaving, to the point that there almost wasn’t sitting room - in a fucking park! to get into the bar we had to almost fight our way to the bar, and after 45 minutes of scuffiling then you got a warm over priced drink.

Its was enough to drive me to drugs, but I bet there would have been a queue there as well….. seriously though don’t do drugs kids, although I hear smack is very moreish. And not in the North African sense.

So basically I was unimpressed by what they had to offer, I feel a year older, a year wiser yet a year sadder.

Although really cares what the hell I thinks we eh?

Lets rejoice in happier times…… This was the Joy of Last year’s Lovebox

Airness

Friday, July 18th, 2008

I’ve always thought that I’d be great in a band - its just my lack of musical prowess that holds me back…. until now.

If you have watched the latest 11th you’ll know that I met the organizer and reigning UK Air guitar championship. Lovely guys; what Lemmy would be if he wasn’t a smack head.

But this is just the first part of this show as on the August the 8th at the UK Airguitar Championships 08 Johnny Hotsausage is coming out of retirement to take on the best the UK has to offer. Here he is supporting the Damned with his band the Spunk rockets back in 07…

And for once ‘m actually going to prepare for something. I have an entrance planned, a costume and a “gimmick” (it involves my underwear)

At the moment I can’t decide on a song. These are some of the early front runners…..

The advice I got was to choose something that has a wild guitar section, speed changes are also a good. So if you fancy letting me know any suggestions then that’d be lovely, or if you want to be my Air groupie then I can also accommodate that.

The latest Eleven is up. Air Guitar Rock Gods!!

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Is it sport? is it art? is it dance? who knows and frankly who cares, as all that matters is that Air guitar is something we have all done at one time or another. Though probably we can’t or don’t want to remember it..why cause we we’re probably pissed.

But a few years back some ingenious guys n gals decided to take it to the next level and created the World Air Guitar Championships. Now obviously if you are going to have a World Championship a national championship will be needed to select the mighty specimen who will represent his or her country.

That’s where OJ and this episode of The Eleventh Commandment comes in.

Yup OJ met up with Zac “The Magnet” Monro twice world champion and co-founder of Air Guitar UK to get the low down on the whole shebang..

And as he is going to be competing in the UK  2008 Air Guitar UK Championships at the Islington Academy on Friday the 8th August 7pm, he also bagged himself a few tips form Gabi Matzeu alias “The Hoxton Creeper” twice UK champ and current UK champ.

Make sure you go see the show..Oj will be competing under the name of ‘johnny hot sausage’.. from what I’ve seen so far a fiver says he won’t make it through the first round! Actually he probably will! as he does seem to pull em out of the bag from time to time..

The Lovebox Weekender

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Yes the festival season is well and truly upon us. Every weekend there are music festivals going off here, there and everywhere. A few weekends ago it was Glastonbury where apparently Jay z proved that he was a great choice to headline! Some will disagree but that’s life innit. Last weekend was the 02 festival in London Hyde park. And you guessed it, your’s truly and OJ borg blagged our way in for free! It was a great event, sunshine, not too crowded and some great beer, wine, cider, apple and pear! (first time for everything and actually tasted quite nice) and even some rose wine. Yup they served it we drank it. We were there to have fun and not film…The two big acts that really got the crowd going were Underworld and Fat Boy Slim.

All this and loads of advertising around London has reminded of the Love box weekender. This year’s one is on the 19th July I think..just around the corner and like last year they’ve got a pretty impresive line up. Not that it matters to us because we’re not going! Though Gill Mills over at Flyposter maybe be dropping in and she will probably get a whole lot more interviews than us. Why because at last years weekender no one would speak to us, we spent the whole day wandering about trying to steal, blag and beg for an interview with anybody! But just as dusk was dawning we got our IV with Jazzy B from Soul 2 soul. Saved by the bell as squeech would say!

In case you haven’t seen the show you can see it here just go to previous episodes and scroll down (currently page 2), you’l find it. It’s called the Lovebox weekender! And if you haven’t been before it will give you a taster of all the other fun things you can do there when not listening to music, cause we filmed OJ doing them all!!

Big Decisions for A Big Guy

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

Life s beset by decisions. and I feel that I have reached a the cross road of one that will define me not just As Oliver James Borg D’Anastasi (yep, thats the full name, thanks for asking) Not just as a man. But as a Human being.

Many great leaders have taken decisions. Ceaser, Napoleon, Churchill (not the car insurance dog - although I’ve heard he is very decisive) and this point rates as high as anything those powerful men of history have battled with.

Doctors must make decisions on people lives but I still reckon this is bigger.

So what is this earth quaking choice, this 50/50 that is greater than god its self.

You sure you ready for this? Steel yourself my friend…….

Should I buy the new Grand Theft Auto 4 game on PS3 or Xbox 360?

You see I know more people who have the game on the Xbox but it just feels like a playstation game…..

You see what my tiny soggy mind has had to deal with?

So let me know which way I should go….. and if you know where I can actually buy a copy of the fucker from in either format then I’d be happy to hear it.

I look forward to hearing from you, you caring soul you.

Ballbag A-hoy

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Its not many times that I, as a narcissistic TV presenter who loves only himself and the smell of a good quality mahogany, can say that I have done some good.

But, yes, through the medium of the Eleventh commandment, it has only taken 2008 years but religion has finally done some good - way to go big G!

I will now prove this by pasting a message I got from a guy who works with us called Neil Dixon (of dock Green) a couple of days ago…..

I just had an email from Chris Leydon of The Podzone.

As a result of seeing the 11thC Mr Testicles episode, he is having a scan later this month to test for suspected testicular cancer. He asked that I give you his heartfelt thanks for producing the episode and making him - and hopefully others - more aware.

neil…

Now when we contacted Mr Testicles to do the show we did for obvious good reasons thinking we would raise a bit of awareness (plus I have to admit I thoght it’d be slightly amusing interviewing a massive pair of balls on the South Bank) but I never realized that we would actually directly help someone. Way to go me (oh and James) So I thought I’d use this moment to try and nudge you into donating some money to the charity so more blokes and thier onion bags don’t have something go wrong with them.
